Deputy Head of Mission Participates in High-Level Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration

The Deputy Head of Mission participated in a high-level event and panel discussions marking the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The event was jointly convened by the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya and the UN Women China Office, underscoring the continued importance of multilateral cooperation in advancing gender equality.

The gathering featured keynote remarks by the Deputy Minister of Gender and Culture of the Republic of Kenya and the Gender Advisor to the President of Kenya, who reaffirmed Kenya’s steadfast commitment to the advancement of women’s rights and economic empowerment.

Discussions centered on collective efforts to accelerate implementation of the Beijing+30 Action Agenda, with a particular focus on the development and promotion of gender-responsive policies and practices. Participants emphasized the value of international partnerships and shared responsibility in achieving meaningful progress toward gender equality.

The event served as a timely opportunity to reflect on progress made since 1995 and to reinvigorate global commitments to the full realization of the objectives of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
