Statement on the recent events in Turkey - OSCE PC

Thank you Mr chair,

Iceland would like to align with the statement made by the European Union. We would also like to reiterate the foundational importance of democracy for the OSCE, and the participating State’s commitments to its values and principles.

Freedom of expression, assembly, and independence of the judiciary are fundamental foundations of democracy. Iceland continues to defend these values and promote democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
